Guest Information

We hope you enjoy your day at the Dedham Country and Polo Club and if we may assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to ask. Below is a brief summary of our rules and answers to questions you may have that we hope you find helpful.

  • General Information
    • Dress Code

Attire at the Club should be, at all times, in good taste and appropriate to the activity being participated in.

Golf. Male golfers must wear collared shirts and can wear Bermuda length shorts not more than four inches above the knee. For women, if a shirt has no sleeves, it must have a collar; if it has no collar, it must have sleeves.

Clubhouse. Blue Jeans/dungarees and colored denim are not allowed inside or outside the Clubhouse. Shorts are not permitted in the Dining Room for dinner service. Jacket and tie are traditional attire for gentlemen for club-wide events such as Holiday, Opening and Member-Guest Dinners.

Tennis. Collared shirts are mandatory for adult males and junior boys.

Pool. Dress for the pool for men and boys is swimming trunks and for women and girls is a bathing suit, as accepted in good taste by the membership. Swimming attire is only allowed in the pool area, the west lawn and the parking areas. Adults are asked to wear “beach cover up” attire when eating at the pool snack bar.

Gentlemen should remove hats, visors or other head coverings before entering the Clubhouse. During the golf and outdoor tennis season, any dress permitted on the golf course or tennis courts is similarly permitted in the Clubhouse. Shoes, sneakers or sandals must be worn at all times inside the Clubhouse, Pro Shop or Tennis building. Soft spike golf shoes may be worn in the Clubhouse. Swimsuits and all manner of pool wear cover-ups may not be worn outside of the pool, west lawn, and parking areas.

      Cell Phones

Permitted areas of use of cell phones to make calls are inside the offices in lower level of the Clubhouse, the inside back corridor of the Tennis Facility (not in the viewing area or the locker rooms), and inside the Lifeguard station building at the pool.

Where the limited use of personal electronic devices is permitted at the Club, please remember that courtesy, common sense and Club culture must always be considered. Smartphones, IPads, Kindles, Tablets and lap tops are permitted in the Pub Room, Family Dining, Clubhouse Terraces and Deck and the Pool Deck for reading and replying to texts and emails and reading periodicals. These devices are not allowed in the Dining Room or Parlor. While limited usage of personal electronic devices is permitted, all use must be silent and brief.

      Smoking

Dedham Country and Polo Club is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted in any dining area, including the outdoor terraces and porches.

  • Directions to the Club
    • The club is located on the west side of the Town of Dedham, bordering neighboring communities of Westwood, Dover and Needham. It is fairly easy to get to on back roads if you know the Boston metro-west/I-95 area.

      Simplest, best known, most traveled:

Rte. 128 / I-95/93 encircle Boston. DCPC is about 1.3 from 128/95, southwest of Boston.

The Exit to look for is 16B/Rte. 109 West (toward Westwood, away from Dedham).

      • From the north, at the end of the ramp you are forced right and will be on Rte. 109 for .2 miles.
      • From the south, at the end of the ramp you will be on Rte. 109 for .3 miles.
      • Take a right at the first street/sign which is marked Grove Street to Country Club Road.
      • Stay straight for .9 mile; you will see two indoor tennis buildings on your left, the club entrance drive is on the far side of the club sign.

      Guests:
Park in a lined space to the right of the clubhouse. If you have arranged to meet in the clubhouse, the club member will likely wait for you in the front foyer just inside the entry. Ask a member of the house staff if you require further assistance.

      Vendors/Staff/Job Applicants:
As you pull in the drive you will face the clubhouse, note gate at the end of a short driveway to the right of the building. Park in a lined space beyond the pool house, walk back to the gated area and enter the building through the middle side door. At the end of the hall go right, the club office is on the left.

A member of the administrative or management staff will assist you from there.
